When it comes to getting comfy, nothing beats a fluffy blanket out of all the bedding we've tested—and we've tried a lot. The majority of comforters are effective at keeping you warm. However, a great comforter should be as light as air, with a strong shell that seals in the feathers and fluff.
After sleeping with dozens of comforters for hundreds of hours, we've selected five that stand out for their loft, construction, warmth, and availability. They're dreamy, in our opinion.
Whether you want something warm, chilly, or cloud-like, there are season-best comforters for every type of sleeper. In a typical year, season-best comforters tend to sell out. However, during the fall and winter of 2020–21, we had more stock issues than ever on all of our recommendations. We believe that 2021–22 will be equally as dangerous. This is most likely due to a mix of supply constraints caused by the pandemic and rising demand.
